In this Cinema 4D tutorial we will model a pair of sandals. Starting with a plane object we will model upwards with Extrudes to form the sole of the sandals. We will then shape the sandal by pushing and pulling polygons around to create depressions for the heel and arch. Details will be added using the Bevel and Extrude tools. Finally, we will start with a simple polygon and extrude out edges to form the thong strap of the sandal. Use the Symmetry Object to finish the pair.
In Part 2 of this sandal tutorial we will texture the model with base materials from the Content Browser and modify them as necessary. We will also review different projection modes to properly map out textures onto our model. If you are new to texturing and don't understand basic projection modes and the concept of a Bump Channel then this tutorial is for you.
